The Department of Emergency Medicine at Dalhousie University is seeking a clinically oriented Emergency Physicians for a Full Time Pediatric Emergency Medicine position at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The Pediatric Emergency Department at the IWK Health Centre has an annual census of 33,000 and is the only pediatric trauma centre in the Maritime provinces. An active academic and research program supports the on-site Pediatric Emergency Medicine Subspecialty Residency training program. You will join an active, collegial, and motivated group of approximately 20 EM clinicians, researchers, and educators at the QEII-HSC/IWK with subspecialty expertise in EMS/trauma systems, medical informatics, knowledge translation, point of care ultrasound, disaster medicine, simulation, toxicology, airway management and critical thinking in medical education.
Interested applicants must hold an MD Degree or equivalent and be eligible for licensure in Nova Scotia. The Department is seeking those who have a Fellowship/equivalent in Pediatric Emergency Medicine through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Consideration will also be given to those with extensive clinical experience in Emergency Medicine who have demonstrated strength in managing acutely ill and injured children.
